Gabriola mansion

1501-1523 Davie Street, Vancouver, BC

plan:

The building will not be torn down but rather restored to its former glory and converted into rental residential units. As an expert in repurposing older buildings, Carrera has plans to restore the stained glass windows, iconic staircase, original custom hardware, and the beautiful foyer fireplace. Soon people will be able to say they live at “The Mansion”.

history:

In 1924, Gabriola Mansion was converted to Angus Apartments. The building saw a new life in 1978 when it was changed into Hy’s Mansion, an upscale restaurant. A restaurant conversion to Macaroni Grill happened in 1994. The building languished in recent years until Carrera Management Corporation purchased it.
